MAY 2008

• Club Documents updated with new Player Record Sheet - 08 and Paying in Sheet - 08. Managers should now be using these sheets for squad administration.

  Indoors : Nursery Children (3 years and up) at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Twydall Lane. Every Tuesday during term time : 4.45pm - 5.45pm.
  Outdoors : Reception & Year 1 at Featherby School Field, Chilham Road. Every Saturday : 9am - 10.30am (11am Yr1). All abilities welcome !!

APRIL 2008

• Thamesview Youth Football Club are pleased to announce that the Club has received the FA Charter Standard from the Football Association.

• The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 12th May.
• The TYFC Presentation night for the 07/08 season will be held at Gillingham Football Club on Sunday 15th June 2008, starting at 4pm to 10:30pm. Tickets will be £6 per single ticket and £15 for a family (of 4) ticket. Under 5's and players go free.
• Thamesview had mixed fortunes in the cup finals this season. The Under 11's Rangers narrowly missed out on a League and Cup double in a Penalty shoot out after a 3-3 draw with Valley Colts in the John Leeds final. The Under 14's Rangers however recorded a 4-0 victory over Bredhurst Juniors in the League Cup final. In addition, the Under 18's were awarded the Sportsmanship award for Division 2.
• The Soccer School Year 1 team (Under 6-7's squad) are currently looking for players to join their Year 1 'Rangers' team for summer tournaments and the coming season 08/09. The team is entirely comprised of current Year 1 players and require 4 players from this age range to supplement the squad for the new season. The team will be playing 'up a year' and will play 2 seasons at Under 8's. MARCH 2008

• NOTE: to all squads and coaches, the Easter Tournament is upon us. To all those taking part good luck. To those squads going on the arranged event on Saturday we hope you all have good fun. Please feel free to support the tournament on Sunday 23rd at the Anchorians (all day), and the social evenings Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd at the Star Meadow Club (Rochagas). For those not hosting the Dutch boys, a small fee of £3 each adult (covering both nights) will be charged to cover costs. Any questions contact Mick Kirk - Under 13's.

FEBRUARY 2008

• Congratulations to the Under 14's Rangers and Under 11's Rangers for reaching the League Cup and John Leeds Trophy Finals after Semi-Final victories over the weekend.
• Well Done to Thamesview Under 11's Rangers for winning the Under 11's Division 1 Title following their win on Sunday. The win secured them their first Thamesview title and the first TYFC honour of the season. Well done to Frank and his team !!
• The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 3rd March.

JANUARY 2008

• The Soccer School Year 1 (Under 6's) had their second training friendly match on 26th January with a return fixture against Oak Athletic. Game 1 saw a first victory for Thamesview as they ran out 7-4 winners with hat-tricks from Man of the Match, Tyler Juggins & Luis Binks and a strike from Archie Williams. The second game was lost 0-5 but saw fantastic displays from 'keeper Joe Walsh and Man of the Match, Robert Larini in defence.
  

• The Annual Dutch tournament featuring our friends from OSM'75 will be running at Easter on the 23rd March at the Anchorians. It will be the 21st Anniversary of the event and to raise funds TYFC will be hosting a Race Night on the 23rd February at the Plough & Chequers Public House from 7pm. Entrance Tickets : £1.00 ea (chance to win £20.00), Bets: £5.00 to own a horse per race (chance to win Owners money), £1.00 per horse (chance to win percentage of Tote taken on that race).
  
  
  
• The TYFC Soccer School Year 1 (Under 6's) team has been generously sponsored by Suzuki - Grays of Chatham with Home and Away shirts for the coming season for their first season at Under 8's. The players wil be proudly wearing their shirts in the coming weeks and months playing in friendly games as they gain valuable experience for September. Their first friendly fixture was against Oak Athletic on the 15th December and resulted in two good games as all the players enjoyed their first practice match. Game 1 was a close encounter with a good defensive performance from Robert Larini and a Man of the Match display from goalscorer Luis Binks as Thamesview went down 1-2. The second game was a bit tougher as TYFC lost 1-8 but Jack Smith gave a Man of the Match display and Henry Wells grabbed a deserved goal.

• The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 12th November.
• Due to League imposed restrictions on results and match reports being displayed on club websites, the TYFC website will be from this weekend (7th October), uploading TYFC results on a Tuesday and TYFC match reports on a Friday. This will allow us to comply with League guidelines which in turn comply with their sponsorship committments with the local papers, The Medway Standard and the Medway News.
• Thamesview's Soccer School are are pleased to announce two fantastic tracksuit sponsorship deals for both our Under 8's squads. The Under 8's youth squad has been sponsored by Mandave Project Interiors Ltd with a set of tracksuits. The Under 8's Rangers squad has been sponsored by C.E.S Kent Ltd with it's set of tracksuits.

• The TYFC AGM was held on Monday 4th June, after which some changes to various club documentation was agreed. These changes can be found in the documentation section of the website with revision numbers '07'. In addition the club would like to thank the outgoing Treasurer, David Thomas, for all his hard work over the last 5 years. TYFC also welcomed Mark Sandmann as a new Vice-President and Leanda Arnold as the new Treasurer.

• The TYFC Presentation Night held at GFC on Sunday 3rd June was a fabulous night out for parents and players alike from all the TYFC age groups. The club would like to thank Frannie Collin, Tom Binks and Rob Denness for the presenting of awards throughout the evening.

MAY 2007

• The TYFC Funday held on the 20th May at Rochgas was a resounding success with everyone having a great time. Thanks to everybody who helped setup and run the event, making it a brilliant day out.
• The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 4th June. Please note that this will include the AGM.
• The TYFC Funday on Sunday 20th May at the Rochgas Club will commence from 11am and have all the squads participating in various fund raising activities during the afternoon. The Soccer School will be playing small mini-soccer tournament whilst the older age-groups will be having sponsored penalty taking and 11-a-side matches. There will be lots of fun and games on the day so please come and support the club !!

• Thamesview's league performances this season have resulted with mixed results with the Honours page being updated with TYFC successes being noted. A special congratulations however must be given to the Under 10s after winning the Under 10's Division 1 Sportsmanship award. In addition, in their last season, the Under 16's Rangers won the U16's Division Div 2 title in what will be their last season. Well done to Gary Waple and his team for a fine final season.
• Congratulations to the Under 13's Rangers after a thumping League Cup Final win on Sunday 13th May. They ran out 8-0 winners over Rainham Eagles with Chris Briggs (3), Alfie Barratt (2), James Ashdown, Leon Pointon & Joe Beer on the scoresheet for Rangers.
• The Soccer School Year 2 Team (new Under 8's Youth) played a practice match amongst themselves on Saturday 12th May. Wearing their new kit, sponsored by Comma Oil, everyone enjoyed the experience of playing their first 'real' match. The match ended in a 2-0 victory for the 'Reds' playing in the home kit. The 'Yellows' in the away kit played well, with notable performances by Matthew Halls and Nathan Nicholson. The 'Reds' though just edged the match with two second half goals from Josh Ofield-Thompson and Charlee Juggins.
• The Soccer School Year 1 Team (new Under 8's Rangers) played their first game in a friendly match against Wigmore on Saturday 5th May. Wearing their new kit, sponsored by Grange Road Stores, they enjoyed mixed fortunes against a strong Wigmore squad. Thamesview lost the first game 0-7 but all the players enjoyed the experience. Everyone played well with Daniel Cabella outstanding in defence. The second game was a different story with a 2-1 win, with Josh Whybrow and Campbell Hook on the scoresheet for Thamesview.

APRIL 2007

• This year saw the 20th Year of the annual exchange visit between Thamesview and our friends from Utrecht in Holland. Click on the flags for more information on the Event.
• The Under 11's Youth played in the League Cup Final on Sunday 29th April. Although they lost the match 0-3 to Cliffe Royals, the Cup Final appearance was a deserved reward following a tough season.

• The TYFC Soccer School is excited to announce another fantastic sponsorship deal which will see new home and away kits for our 'senior' Under 8's squad for the coming 2007/08 season. The year 2 squad will be proudly wearing kits sponsored by .

The Year R / Nursery players will continue in their current Tuesday evening slot at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Twydall between 4:45 & 5:45 pm.

• The club would like to thank everyone who attended the TYFC Wine & Wisdom evening. Also, many thanks to everyone who helped setup the event.
• Two new forms have been added to the Documentation page for Squad Managers:- The Monthly Financial Returns Form and Requisition Form are now on-line to be used to aid squad administration.

OCTOBER 2006 -

• The TYFC Soccer School will have a new time and venue for the YEAR 2 (next year's Under 8 teams) players starting on Saturday 4th November. Training will be from 9am to 10:30am every Saturday at Featherby School, Twydall. Players are encouraged to wear correct kit including football boots as training will be outside on grass. Year 1 and Year R / Nursery players will continue in their current Tuesday evening slots at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Twydall.
• TYFC have the pleasure to announce that 6 coaches gained the FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification on Saturday 28th October. The six coaches attended a 4 week course at Cobdown Sports Club and were trained to the FA's Level 1 standard of coaching which included 1st Aid and Child Protection. Congratulations to Mick Barnard, Mick Kirk, Shane Regan, Andrea Pavan, Terry Arnold and Rob Lowdell.
• TYFC will be hosting a Wine & Wisdom evening on Saturday 11th November at Saxon Way School, Ingram Road Gillingham. The event will be from 7:30pm to 11pm with tables of 8 players per team. Tickets are £6 per head and will include wine and food on the night, although as usual please feel free to bring more food and drink to feed your brains !! Please let your team Manager or representative know ASAP if you require tickets as numbers are limited.
• The TYFC Presentation night for the 06/07 season will be held at Gillingham Football Club on Sunday 3rd June 2007. Further details regarding the event will be released closer to the time.

SEPTEMBER 2006 -

• The club will be arranging it's forthcoming events well in advance for the coming season with dates for a Quiz night, Presentation Evening and Fun Day on the horizon. Keep checking back to the website for further information over the next few weeks for updates.
• TYFC will like to extend thanks to everyone who came and supported the Fun Day which took place on Sunday 3rd September. A great time was had by all and in particular the Soccer Skills players who attended their first Fun Day. Well done to all the winning penalty takers and teams who participated. TYFC would also like to thank all the committee members who gave up their valuable time to setup, run and clear up the event.

AUGUST 2006 -

• TYFC will be hosting a FUN DAY on Sunday, 3rd of September at Saxon Way School, Ingram Road, Gillingham. The event starts at 11am with various activities for everyone, including a Bouncy Castle, Stalls with fun & games, BBQ etc. There will be Penalty Shootout competitions for the Soccer School through to the Under 9's and combined matches for the other teams.
• The TYFC Soccer Skills Club (Holy Trinity Church Hall, Twydall) for 4 to 7 year olds has been extended for a further hour and has been split into to age groups. From the 5th September, Nursery & Reception Year children will train 4:45pm to 5:45pm and Year 1 & Year 2 children will train 5:45pm to 6:45pm. For more infomation call Terry on 01634 233472.
