The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 6th February.
Many thanks to everyone who came to the Quiz nite on Friday. It was good to see many new faces at one of the Club events but a shame some squads did not support the event. I would to thank Jo and Donna for doing the scoring and everyone who helped during the evening. Congratulations to the Under 8's for winning and we hope to see everyone at the future Club events.

FUNDRAISING! - The Club is having a Quiz Night @ The Southall Suite, 44Two Club, Featherby Road on Friday 27th January , 7pm to 11pm - £5 per head - Teams from 6 to 10 people. Please contact our Social Secretary Jo McCormick on Tel: 01634 379895 / Mob: 07525437384 or your Squad Manager for more information - pay on the night or through your Squad Manager. There is a licensed bar (with reductions if you are a 44Two member) Lastly, if you have any unwanted gifts or can obtain signed footballs etc, can you please let Jo McCormick know, as these would be greatly received for a raffle held during the quiz. This will help raise funds for the Easter Tournament, where OSM from Holland visit TYFC - more information to follow.

OCTOBER 2011

The Under 9's Rangers have been kindly sponsored by Turners Tools for a new Home Kit.
After the successfull goalkeeper training session last month held by Alex Pilbeam of J4K, the Club has arranged for some more goalkeeper training sessions with Alex. The next session will be Saturday 5th November at Featherby School with the following times:- U7s to U9s 10am to 10:45am and U10s upwards from 10:45am to 11:30am. Please remember this is to coach the 'coaches' to get coaching training to take back to coach the squads and please invite any squad 'keepers to the session to perform the drills and get the specialist training. SEPTEMBER 2011

On Saturday 17th of September, J4K Goalkeeping coach, Alex Pilbeam (FA level 2 GK coach) did two Goalkeeping training sessions for all of the Thamesview Youth FC goalkeepers. The sessions were held at Featherby School with a mixture of mini soccer and 11-a-side keepers being put through their paces. All the 'keepers really enjoyed their training and the Club is looking to arrange another session in the future. Many thanks to Alex who gave the boys a really good training session !

Starting on 17th September 2011 @ Featherby School from 10:30am to 12 noon, Thamesview Youth FC will be starting Girls football training. Initially we are considering entering a team next season 2012/13 at Under 13's which will include girls from Years 7 & 8 next year. If you are currently in School years 6 or 7 and are interested in playing for one of the most progressive youth football clubs in the area please contact our Female Football Officer, Jayne Harvey (FA Level 1 Coach) on Tel # : 01634 323896 / Mob # : 07930890522. In addition we will be running training sessions for girls in School years 2, 3, 4 & 5 with a view to running some girls mini soccer teams. Again please contact TYFC for more information.

JUNE 2011

One of our Under 8's Youth players, Tofunmi Ameen, has moved on to Gillingham FC after putting in some impressive performances over the last two seasons with TYFC. In all Tofunmi played 30 games scoring 23 goals and gained 8 Man of the Match awards. Well Done Tofunmi and Good Luck !!

***** PRESENTATION DAY UPDATE ***** The TYFC Presentation Day will be taking place on Saturday 28th May at the 442 Club in Gillingham.

The day will run from 9am to 5:30pm with staggered presentation times for all the squads followed by a Disco in the Southall Suite for all the Players, Parents & Guests in the evening from 7pm. There will be fun and games including: - Indoor 5-a-side, a 70 foot inflatable assault course, Velcro Football, Inflatable Penalty Shootout and a Bouncy castle for the 6 and unders.
The cost is £5 per registered player, payable on entry to the event. Each registered squad will get 1/2 hour on the inflatable activities, 1/2 hour 5-a-side football and their trophy presentation. The Under 6's and Soccer School will have a Presentation followed by an hour on the Inflatables. Guests associated within each age group will be able to join in by purchasing a wristband for £2.
There will be food via the BBQ available through the day and also the opportunity to purchase TYFC merchandise. Also there will be professional photography by www.eventphotographeruk.co.uk.

APRIL 2011

2011 saw the 24th year of the TYFC-OSM Easter Tournament with the 25th overall meeting of the two Clubs. The event in Holland was a huge Success as Thamesview visited our friends in Holland over the Easter Weekend with our Under 12's Squad and a combined Under 13's squad. Although OSM won the Cup this year everyone had a great time as new friends were made and old aquaintances were reunited. A huge Well Done to Dave Rose and everyone who helped organise the event within Thamesview as well as Erwin, Rick and the OSM 'family' who ensured that the weekend was a memorable occasion!

Many Thanks to everyone who supported the Race Night on 9th April. The evening was a huge success with a fun night had by all!
A Race night has been arranged to raise funds for this years' OSM Holland trip. It will be held at the Rochgas Club on Saturday 9th April. The night will be open from 7:30pm with the first race at 08:30pm. Everybody of all ages is welcome. Races, riders and jockeys will be available on the night but also can be purchased from your Squad Manager.

MARCH 2011

The Under 9's were narrowly knocked out of the the John Leeds Trophy on Sunday 13th March by Cuxton in an entertaining Semi-Final. With one win each the tie then finished goalless after extra-time. Unfortunately Cuxton won the Penalty Shoot-Out but all the players did themselves and the Club proud with their performance - Hard Luck but Well Done on getting to the Semis!

FEBRUARY 2011

The 2011 TYFC Presentation Event has been set for the 28th May at 442. Awards will presented through the day in the Southall Suite with activities for the children arranged including inflatables and indoor 5-a-side football. In the evening the event will finish off with a Disco back in the Southall Suite. More details to follow soon........

JANUARY 2011

As a reminder to ALL PARENTS, PLAYERS & OFFICIALS of the Club, please note that TYFC fully supports the RESPECT Campaign from the FA.
Respect is The FA's programme of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level - on the pitch and from the sidelines.
Improving behaviour is a whole-game issue and since 2008 the Respect programme has been introduced at professional and grassroots levels.
RESPECT ensures a safe, positive environment for everyone to enjoy football which impacts primarily the following areas:
· Referee recruitment and retention: By tackling abuse towards match officials, we hope to reduce the stream of referees understandably leaving the game.
· Participation within youth football: Abuse and pressure from the sidelines needs to stop if we are to ensure young children enjoy, stay and progress in the game.
· Coaching and player development: An encouraging and player-centred approach is vital if we are to improve coaching standards - particularly for the key 5-11 age-group. It's simple: better coaches produce better players.
· Safeguarding children: Everyone in football has a duty of care towards children - ensuring they are able to play football in a safe, enjoyable environment free of abuse, bullying and discrimination.
The FA has an online Respect Guide to highlight examples of poor behaviour and, more importantly, how it can be improved. To see the Guide click here .

NOVEMBER 2010

The 40th Anniversary Celebration Dinner & Dance event was held on 26th November 2010 in the SHO Lounge at the 44Two Sports & Social Club. This gathering saw many guests from the history of the Club along with many current members get together to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Club. Please see the 40th Anniversary page for more information and pictures from the event.

OCTOBER 2010

The 40th Anniversary Dinner & Dance is now open to all parents of TYFC players plus past players/parents. The event will be held in the SHO Lounge at the 44Two Sports & Social Club, Featherby Road, Gillingham, Kent, ME8 6AN on Friday 26th November. The dress code for the event is formal with arrival for 7pm. The meal will commence at around 7:30pm and the evening will finish at 12 midnight. Tickets are strictly on a first come first serve basis at £25 per head. This includes a 3 course meal and entertainment on the night is provided by Kent Discos with live singing from Damon Proyer. In addition there will be a fundraising auction including signed football memorabilia. It is regret we have to announce that the Under 14's Rangers squad will not be running next season - 2010-11. The 3 time League Champions unfortunately will be unable to field a full competitive squad and management team for the new season so therefore are unable to compete in the League. The Club's Assistant Secretary, Sharon Hall, has stepped down after many years with TYFC. After managing a squad for 8 years, Sharon then provided invaluable support to the Club Secretary with regards results administration and other paperwork assistance. Thamesview would like to thank Sharon for her time and effort and wish her well in the future. The Club Social Secretary, Jo McCormick, will be continuing with the Assistant Secretary duties.

Congratulations and Well Done to Luis Binks, formerly of the Under 8's. Luis has been awarded a contract at Tottenham Hotspur after nearly 5 years at Thamesview. In his two playing seasons with TYFC he played 26 games scoring 75 goals and gained 8 Man of the Match awards. In addition, he was also was never on the losing team and lead the squad with distinction as Squad Captain, winning both the Player's Player and Manager's Player of the year awards in his 2 playing seasons. We wish Luis all the best for the future and will track his progress closely!

***** PRESENTATION DAY UPDATE ***** The TYFC Presentation Day will be taking place on Saturday 10th July at the 442 Club in Gillingham. The day will run from 9:30am to 5pm with staggered presentation times for all the squads. There will be fun and games including: - inflatable table football, a giant inflatable slide, gladiator duel and a bouncy castle. The cost is £5 per registered player, payable on entry to the Trophy Presentation Hall. Each squad will get an hour on the inflatable activities following their trophy presentation and guests associated within each age group will be able to join in by purchasing a wristband for £2. There will be food via the Bar and a BBQ available on the day and also the opportunity to purchase TYFC merchandise and 200 Club shares. Also there will be professional photography by www.eventphotographeruk.co.uk.

Players Wanted page updated with requests for players for the 2010/11 season - Under 8's Rangers, Under 10's, Under 12's, Under 13's Rangers, Under 14's Rangers and Under 16's squads require players.
Well Done to Tommy and his team as the Under 13's Rangers won the Under 13's League Division 1 Title Decider Playoff with a 2-1 win over Horsted Youth. This was the third consecutive Division 1 one title for the Rangers team and was reward for a spirited performance against the League Cup Winners.
The Under 13's Rangers unfortunately lost their League Cup Final against Horsted Youth in Thamesview's third Cup Final appearance of the season. Rangers were defeated 0-4 by a strong Horsted team, however 'View can still clinch the Division 1 title overcome Horsted in a Title Decider Playoff.

The TYFC AGM will take place on Monday 28th June. This will be followed by the ordinary monthly meeting.
The Under 14's were desperately unlucky losing their Cup Final against Sheerness East Dynamos. Thamesview didn't capitialise on their territorial advantage and Sheerness took their chances well leaving 'View 1-4 down with less than 10 minutes on the clock. A magnificent fightback was on the cards though as 'View pulled back two late goals to take the game to the wire. Unfortunately 'View eventually lost 3-4 but all the players put in a great effort and just ran out of time in the end. Thamesview's Tom Houston did however win the Man of the Match award awarded by the MNYL for a fantastic individual performance.
The TYFC Clothing Order Form has been updated with the new TYFC Beanie Hat and also the oppourtunity to purchase the TYFC Water Bottles.
Well Done to Under 12's Youth who have been voted the most sporting team in the Under 12's Division 1. Congratulations to Dan Hockley and his management team for winning the Sportsmanship award as well as getting to the JLT Final last month.

APRIL 2010

Congratulations to the Under 14's Youth for clinching the Runners Up spot in the Under 14's League Division 2 !
Well Done to the Under 12's Youth in their Cup Final against Woodcoombe Youth. A tense affair led to the teams being at deadlock 2-2, after extra time. Unfortunately 'View lost 2-4 on penalties but all the players did really well and were very unlucky in the end.

Many thanks to everyone, both Committee Members and Parents, for all their effort, commitment and help over the Easter Weekend. The TYFC/OSM tournament was a success which saw the Cup returned to England (just!) after some fantastic games of football by all the teams. All the players, both from TYFC and OSM, behaved superbly as new friends were made and old aquaintances were reunited. The activity day playing Paintball was great fun for all that took part and the Disco evenings were fantastic with some amusing dance moves. Arrangements for the return visit to Utrecht for the 24th Year (25th actual tournament) will be start being made over the coming months. This season sees the FULL introduction of the 'RESPECT' campaign being run by the FA, which Thamesview Youth Football Club will be supporting fully and have been over the last 12 months.
Respect is The FA's programme of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level - on the pitch and from the sidelines. Improving behaviour is a whole-game issue and the 2009-10 season will see the Respect programme introduced FULLY at professional and grassroots levels.

The FA RESPECT programme will ensure a safe, positive environment for everyone to enjoy football. It will have an impact on the following areas:-
· Referee recruitment and retention: By tackling abuse towards match officials, we hope to reduce the stream of referees understandably leaving the game.
· Participation within youth football: Abuse and pressure from the sidelines needs to stop if we are to ensure young children enjoy, stay and progress in the game.
· Coaching and player development: An encouraging and player-centred approach is vital if we are to improve coaching standards - particularly for the key 5-11 age-group. It's simple: better coaches produce better players.
· Safeguarding children: Everyone in football has a duty of care towards children - ensuring they are able to play football in a safe, enjoyable environment free of abuse, bullying and discrimination.

The FA has also launched a free online Respect Parent Guide to highlight examples of poor behaviour and, more importantly, how it can be improved. To see the Guide for Parents and carers click here .

AUGUST 2009

FUNDRAISING! - The Club is having a Quiz Night @ The Oak Theatre, Woodlands School, Woodlands Road on Friday 25th September - £5 per head - Teams from 6 to 10 people. Please contact your Squad Manager after 7th September for more information and tickets. In addition there will be a 'Retro' 70-80's Adult's only Buffet Disco evening with DJ BiG T at the same venue @ Woodlands on Friday 20th November - £10 per head. Fancy Dress is actively encouraged! Both events will be bring your own drink. These are the first of many fundraising activities the Club are planning to host over the coming months which will raise essential Club funds and give everyone a good time! We expect good support for all the events as the funds raised will go straight to the Club and ultimately the children. Lastly, if you have any unwanted gifts or can obtain signed footballs etc, can you please let Jo McCormick, the Club Social Secretary know, as these would be greatly received for raffles etc during these events.

The club would like to offer it's thanks and gratitude to two long standing members of the club who stood down from their duties at the 2009 TYFC AGM. Firstly Mick Barnard, who has been with the club for over 20 years with the last 8 years as Chairman and his wife Linda, who again has been with the club for a long time and also been Social Secretary for many years. Both Mick and Linda have provided sterling service over the years for the club in many capacities and helped shape the club into the successful status it holds today. As a mark of gratitude both Mick and Linda have been awarded Honorary Life President positions with the club and will continue to support the club.
Following the stepping down of the Chairman and Social Secrertary, the Club has appointed successors to the primary roles they held in the club. Firstly, Terry Arnold has been appointed Chairman and Jo McCormick is the new Social Secretary with assistance from Donna Smith.

*** BREAKING NEWS *** - The TYFC Presentation night for the 08/09 season will be held at PRIESTFIELD STADIUM, GILLINGHAM FC on SUNDAY 7th JUNE - 4pm to 10pm. Tickets will be £6 per single ticket and £15 for a family (of 4) ticket. Under 5's and players go free. Tickets are now available from the Squad Managers.

The Under 15's Rangers have done the 'Double' after clinching the Under 15's Division 1 title ! Well Done to Graham and his team for the second time this month !

The 22nd year of the TYFC-OSM Easter Tournament was a huge Success. Thamesview visited our friends in Holland with our Under 12's Squads over the Easter Weekend. The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 8th September. Please note that there is no August Meeting.
Some squads are still looking to recruit players - see the Players Wanted section for more details.
It is with regret that we have to announce that the Under 18's Youth, Under 16's Rangers & Under 14's Youth will not be running next season. We would like to thank everyone involved with running the squads over the years for all their time and effort.
We now have the Charter Standard Badges to attach to new kit for the 2008/09 season. Please see the following document (Charter Badge application instructions) for application information. In addition please note that the badges on ALL kit must be attached on the RIGHT UPPER ARM ONLY.

The Under 12's Youth squad have been kindly sponsored by the Football Foundation with an Away kit for the new season.
TYFC are pleased to announce that our Under 11's squads for next season have gained some valuable sponsorship. The 'New' Under 11's Rangers will be wearing shirts kindly sponsored by CWU. The Under 11's Youth will be wearing Home shirts sponsored by Savage of Medway and Away shirts sponsored by M & P Puxty Electrical.

The next TYFC Meeting to be held at the Sturdee Sports & Social Club is on Monday 14th July
The TYFC AGM was held on Monday 16th June. Following the meeting, all the existing Principal Club Officers will continue in their current roles with the addition of Terry Arnold, elected as Head of Youth Development.
The TYFC Presentation Night held at GFC on Sunday 15th June was a great night out for parents and players alike from all the TYFC age groups. Congratulations to all the award winners and also many thanks to everyone involved in organising the event, ensuring it was a huge success. The club would like to thank Tom Binks and Rob Denness for the presenting of awards throughout the evening.
