APRIL 2011
2011 saw the 24th year of the
TYFC-OSM Easter Tournament with the 25th overall meeting of the two Clubs. The
event in Holland was a huge Success as Thamesview visited our friends in
Holland over the Easter Weekend with our Under 12's Squad and a combined Under
13's squad. Although OSM won the Cup this year everyone had a great time as new
friends were made and old aquaintances were reunited. A huge Well Done to Dave
Rose and everyone who helped organise the event within Thamesview as well as
Erwin, Rick and the OSM 'family' who ensured that the weekend was a memorable
occasion!

A Race night has been arranged to raise funds for this
years' OSM Holland trip. It will be held at the Rochgas Club on Saturday 9th
April. The night will be open from 7:30pm with the first race at 08:30pm.
Everybody of all ages is welcome. Races, riders and jockeys will be available
on the night but also can be purchased from your Squad Manager.MARCH 2011

As a reminder to ALL PARENTS,
PLAYERS & OFFICIALS of the Club, please note that TYFC fully supports the
RESPECT Campaign from the FA.
Respect is The FA's programme of activities to
combat unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level - on the pitch and
from the sidelines.
Improving behaviour is a whole-game issue and since 2008
the Respect programme has been introduced at professional and grassroots
levels.
RESPECT ensures a safe, positive environment for everyone to enjoy
football which impacts primarily the following areas:
· Referee
recruitment and retention: By tackling abuse towards match officials, we hope
to reduce the stream of referees understandably leaving the game.
·
Participation within youth football: Abuse and pressure from the sidelines
needs to stop if we are to ensure young children enjoy, stay and progress in
the game.
· Coaching and player development: An encouraging and
player-centred approach is vital if we are to improve coaching standards -
particularly for the key 5-11 age-group. It's simple: better coaches produce
better players.
· Safeguarding children: Everyone in football has a
duty of care towards children - ensuring they are able to play football in a
safe, enjoyable environment free of abuse, bullying and discrimination.

The 40th Anniversary Dinner & Dance is now open to all parents of TYFC players plus past players/parents. The event will be held in the SHO Lounge at the 44Two Sports & Social Club, Featherby Road, Gillingham, Kent, ME8 6AN on Friday 26th November. The dress code for the event is formal with arrival for 7pm. The meal will commence at around 7:30pm and the evening will finish at 12 midnight. Tickets are strictly on a first come first serve basis at £25 per head. This includes a 3 course meal and entertainment on the night is provided by Kent Discos with live singing from Damon Proyer. In addition there will be a fundraising auction including signed football memorabilia. Many thanks
to everyone, both Committee Members and Parents, for all their effort,
commitment and help over the Easter Weekend. The TYFC/OSM tournament was a
success which saw the Cup returned to England (just!) after some fantastic
games of football by all the teams. All the players, both from TYFC and OSM,
behaved superbly as new friends were made and old aquaintances were reunited.
The activity day playing Paintball was great fun for all that took part and the
Disco evenings were fantastic with some amusing dance moves. Arrangements for
the return visit to Utrecht for the 24th Year (25th actual tournament) will be
start being made over the coming months. More details on the photography taken

The Fun Run held to raise
funds for the TYFC/OSM Tournament and Demelza House resulted in TYFC donating a
sum of £750 to our friends at Demelza House. Many thanks to everyone who
