02/12/07 - Under 12's Division 2 - Wigmore Youth 3 - 3 TYFC Youth
Due to the torrential rain, many questioned why these youth teams where left to battle to the final whistle when surrounding matches were abandoned and postponed. The sweeping rain and mud sodden pitch meant that neither team were able to adopt their usual style of football. Wigmore made the most of the downhill advantage and at half time were leading 3-0. A determined Thamesview returned to dominate the second half with goals from Connor Trussell, Alex Deeley and Captain, Frank Collin as the away side had many more shots on target. 'View entered the final minutes desperately trying to make this encounter in such extreme weather conditions seem worthwhile, however nobody was disappointed to hear the final whistle. Thamesview's team spirit and determination shone through in this game. Injuries and substitutions meant changes to their usual game plan, but they all supported and encouraged each other. What a credit they are as a team, keeping their heads up and coming back in the second half to secure a draw. Well done to ALL the lads, you should be very proud of your efforts.

Thamesview opened the cup tie strongly and nearly scored in one of their early attacks. However it was Kenilworth who took the lead with a scrambled goal following a corner. Thamesview attempted to find an equaliser, but were battling against the wind and a solid Kenilworth defence. Kenilworth were dominating territory in the first half and it was only Thamesviews defensive teamwork that prevented Kenilworth doubling their lead when it looked like they would score from a quick break, energetic work at the back prevented a simple tap-in goal. With only a 0-1 deficit at half-time and with the wind at their backs Thamesview were still in the game. The second half saw Thamesview pushing forward, but it was not until the final minutes that the hard working Frank Collin found the equaliser which took the game into extra time. During extra time Thamesview were unable to convert their chances into goals and the teams were left with the lottery of penalties which saw Kenilworth securing a ticket to the semi-finals with a 4-3 shootout win. Mention must be made of the composure and control of Zac Cleaves who had an outstanding game at the centre of their defence and also the energy and desire of Frank Collin in centre midfield for Thamesview.

'View found themselves having to scramble a ball off the line as Oak looked dangerous. Oak did pull a goal back soon after this near miss and then quickly netted an equaliser.
