09/09/07- U8's League Division Red - Away V Rainham Kenilworth

MATCH 1 - 1-3 Loss
Thamesview Youth were unlucky to lose against a strong Kenilworth team in their first league match. Thamesview had their chances and did manage to find the net after some good work from Captain, Rhys Faram released Charlee Juggins to register Youth's first league goal. In the end it was a good performance from Thamesview but Kenilworth ended up winning 3-1 despite a Man of the Match performance from Harry Jones.

MATCH 2 - 0-3 Loss
The second game was again another tough introduction to league football. Kenilworth had most of the play for long periods as Thamesvew struggled to get going. Athough it ended up 3-0 to Kenilworth, Thamesview had to thank a fine goalkeeping performance from Man of the Match, David Reeves in the Youth goal for keeping the score down.

16/09/07- U8's League Division Red - Home V New Ash Green

MATCH 1 - 7-0 Win
Thamesview were in seventh heaven as they beat an under strength New Ash Green side. Thamesview came out of the blocks flying as Harry Jones was a whisker away from getting on the end of a Charlee Juggins cross from the kick off. The first goal of the game came from Josh Ofield-Thompson, as a poor goal kick was fired back over the 'keeper's head and in the back of the net from a full 20 yards for a stunning first goal of the season from the midfielder. Juggins then turned the ball in from 3 yards after a goal mouth scramble to make it 2-0. Many more chances were created but the score remained 2-0 when the half time whistle blew. Thamesview started the second half as they began the first with attack after attack. Jones got in on the act with a well taken goal, before Luke MacGowan and Charlie Northover were introduced to the game. This gave the team a lift as two more strikes from Man of the Match, Ofield-Thompson, secured his hat trick and made the score 5-0. A great run from captain Rhys Faram then set up Juggins to score his second of the game after which the Thamesview number 10 scored his second to make it three for the season. Jones grabbed his second of the game to make it 7-0 just before the final whistle. In the end it was a very good performance against a spirited New Ash Green side which made it a very satisfying first win of the season.

MATCH 2 - 2-1 Win
A very hard fought match saw Thamesview come out eventual 2-1 winners, however they were pushed all the way by another under strength but energetic New Ash Green side. The away team team showed for most of the game how to pass and create chances and deservedly took the lead a few minutes before half time. It wasn’t until 5 minutes into the second half that Captain, Mase Brindle, took the game by the scruff of the neck and pushed up into midfield. In the end, one of Brindle's bustling sprints through the midfield produced the equalizer with a good run and shot which squeezed in to the corner of the net. Many chances followed for Thamesview with Taylor Courtney going close. As time was running out, and a draw looking the likely outcome, Charlie Neal popped up to turn in the winner. Although there was plenty of attacking on display it was Ben Foster at the back for Thamesview who came up with a Man of the Match performance with some disciplined second half defending. A win but hopefully a tough lesson learned that you have to work hard for your win, it’s not handed to you!

Thamesview's return fixture against Rainham Kenilworth was another tough game. Thamesview struggled to get going and by half time were two down to a more lively Kenilworth side. Although Thamesview kept on battling, Kenilworth's superior finishing ended the game with 0-4 defeat. One bright spark for Thamesview was a great performance by Man of the Match Nathan Nicholson.

The second half proved to be another hard period but Thamesview kept on going until the end, eventually losing again 0-4. Thamesview's Captain, Rhys Faram, led by example throughout this tough encounter with a Man of the Match performance.

30/09/07- U8's League Division Red - Away V Rainham '84

MATCH 1 - 3-2 Win
Thamesview put their disappointments last week behind them with a deserved victory against Rainham '84. Thamesview opened the scoring early on with a snap shot from Philip McCue which rifled in from the edge of the box to put Youth 1-0 up. With Thamesview passing the ball around with confidence they struck a second goal. Charlie Neal rode a couple of challenges and after a great run slotted the ball home to make it 2-0. Rainham '84 though hadn't given up and following a late tackle from the tenacious Nathan Nicholson, the Home Team scored a great free kick from outside the box to make it 2-1 to Youth. The game continued to provide some energetic stuff from both teams with the dangerous Neal going close again with a couple of efforts. Neal scored his second of the game after some more good forward play to put Thamesview 3-1 up. Again Rainham '84 came back though capitalising on some poor defensive work to make it 3-2. With the game on a knife edge in the last five minutes, as both teams were going at it, it took a brilliant tackle from Charles Rayfield to see off Rainham's last chance to pull one back as Thamesview held out for well earned 3-2 win. Ben Foster had another good game at the back for Thamesview as well as a busy second half display from Bobby Northover. Man of the Match though was Charlie Neal whose front running and persistance paid off with two good goals.
TEAM 1 - 13:David Reeves, 2:Mase Brindle©, 19:Ben Foster, 8:Nathan Nicholson, 16:Philip McCue, 20:Charlie Neal - Subs: 3:Charles Rayfield, 18:Bobby Northover - SCORERS: C.Neal 2, P.McCue 1 - MoM: C.Neal

MATCH 2 - 3-0 Win
Thamesview wrapped up all six points from the fixture after a confident display. Thamesview were having all the early play but Rainham '84 held firm until Charlee Juggins ran clear and scored the first for the Away Team. Thamesview then moved up a gear but a combination of less than convincing finishing and good goalkeeping meant Youth had to wait until just before Half-Time before stretching their lead. After the Rainham goalkeper handled outside the area, Harry Jones stepped up and dispatched a fierce free kick into the back of the net to make it 2-0 at the break. The second half was pretty much one-way traffic again as Thamesview had most of the play but Rainham '84 were not giving up and making Youth work hard for their chances. Rhys Farm and Juggins went close for Youth but it Jones who made it 3-0 with another clinical finish. Thamesview failed to add any more to their goal tally thanks to some more saves by the Rainham 'keeper. With Jones and Juggins beginning to look a partnership and indeed a threat on every attack, Thamesview's attacking play was evident however it was a strong defensive performance from Tom Ladd that enabled his team-mates get on with scoring goals at the business end of the pitch.
TEAM 2 - 1:Michell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 6:Rhys Faram©, 7:Josh Ofield-Thompson, 9:Harry Jones, 10:Charlee Juggins - Subs: 4:Luke MacGowan, 14:Charlie Northover - SCORERS: H.Jones 2, C.Juggins 1 - MoM: T.Ladd

07/10/07- U8's League Division Red - Away V Lordswood Youth

MATCH 1 - 0-10 Loss
Thamesview faced their toughest task of the season against top of the table Lordswood. Lordswood showed why they are top by dominating possession and giving little away. Thamesview were strugging to get any sort of rhythm and eventually succumbed to some super finishing by the Home side. Although the score was 0-10, it will probably have been the hardest game of the season for the Thamesview players and a good learning experience. The Thamesview Man of the Match was Charlie Northover who gave a busy performance chasing every ball.
TEAM 1 - 13:David Reeves, 2:Mase Brindle©, 19:Ben Foster, 8:Nathan Nicholson, 14:Charlie Northover, 20:Charlie Neal - Subs: 17:Lucus Harrison-Herbert, 4:Luke MacGowan - MoM: C.Northover

MATCH 2 - 0-5 Loss
The hard morning of football continued with another difficult task against the rampant Lordswood team. Although Lordswood seemed to having a lot of the ball, Thamesview were giving a spirited performance and indeed went close on three occasions through Harry Jones. In the end the Home side's power proved too much for Thamesview as the games finished 0-5 in Lordswood's favour. Rhys Faram lead his team well at the back for his second Man of the Match performance of the season.
TEAM 2 - 1:Michell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 6:Rhys Faram©, 7:Josh Ofield-Thompson, 9:Harry Jones, 10:Charlee Juggins - MoM: R.Faram

14/10/07- U8's League Cup - Away V Thamesview Youth Rangers

Aggregate Score : Youth 5 - 3 Rangers

MATCH 1 - 1-2 Loss
The eagerly awaited Cup clash between the two Thamesview Under 8's teams didn't dissappoint with two fantastic games of football. Rangers started the brightest in Match 1 and within the first five minutes showed they would give the older Youth team a tough match. Rangers took the lead when a long range effort from Louis Singh decieved Mitchell Lee in the Youth goal to put the home side 1-0 up. Rangers kept applying pressure and before long went 2-0 up when Ewan Nash struck a left foot shot from the edge of the box which just crept inside the post. In the second half Youth were getting a bit more play and soon pulled a goal back from Harry Jones after the Youth striker's great run and shot. Youth continued to look for an equalizer with Jones, Charlee Juggins and Josh Ofield-Thompson combining well but Rangers stood firm with strong defending from Holly Springate and Zac Wheeler. Rangers 'keeper, Josh Richardson then made a great save to deny Youth a second goal as Rangers held out for the win. It was a tougher game than Youth expected but Harry Jones did his best to keep Youth in contention with a Man of the Match display.
TEAM 1 - 1:Michell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 4:Luke MacGowan, 7:Josh Ofield-Thompson, 9:Harry Jones, 10:Charlee Juggins© - Sub: 14:Charlie Northover - SCORER: H.Jones 1 - MoM: H.Jones

MATCH 2 - 4-1 Win
The second match was another cracking game with both teams wanting to attack. It was Youth this time who started the stronger and after only a few minutes went 1-0 up. Ben Foster found some time and space to place a good shot into the back of the net for his first Thamesview Youth goal. Youth then went 2-0 up when Nathan Nicholson's corner was deflected in for Nicholson's first of the season. Rangers were struggling to get their game going although Bradley Brown was working his socks off along with Tyler Fairbairn to keep Rangers in the match. Youth extended their lead in the second half when Charlie Neal scored to make it 3-0 to keep control of the game. With 10 minutes left Rangers got a lifeline when Brown struck a contender for goal of the season. The 'Scholes-like' midfielder fired in a shot from 25 yards over David Reeves in to the Youth goal to make it 3-1. This gave the Home Side a lift as Fairbairn, Brown and Josh Whybrow all went close but Youth were still proving to be too strong for the younger Rangers outfit. Youth were still looking to extend their lead as Bobby Northover went close and also had Lucus Harrison-Herbert putting in some dangerous corners. Youth grabbed a fourth goal with a few minutes left when Neal struck again with a shot which James McCormick was unlucky not to save. The game finished 4-1 to Youth as the older Under 8's went through 5-3 on aggregate. It was a great display from the second Youth team as they pulled the result around to gain victory. Ben Foster was solid at the back and scored a good goal, however it was Charlie Neal who ended up Man of the Match with another couple of goals ensuring Youth were in the hat for next round.
TEAM 2 - 13:David Reeves, 2:Mase Brindle©, 19:Ben Foster, 8:Nathan Nicholson, 16:Philip McCue, 20:Charlie Neal - Subs: 17:Lucus Harrison-Herbert, 18:Bobby Northover - SCORERS: C.Neal 2, B.Foster 1, N.Nicholson 1 - MoM: C.Neal

MATCH 1 - 3-0 Win
Thamesview Recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Rainham '84 in this return fixture. Charlee Juggins got the ball rolling early on clinically finishing from a Harry Jones fine run and pass. Then Jones himself was on the scoresheet with a superb second to put Thamesview 2-0 up. Jones got the ball five yards outside the penalty area, dropped his shoulder and beat his man before unleashing a rocket of a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. Youth then had to wait until the second half before Man of the Match Josh Ofield-Thompson, who had another fine game, burst through the Rainham '84 defence and finished brilliantly.

MATCH 2 - 1-4 Loss
Thamesview found the second match a much harder affair against a much improved Rainham '84 outfit. Two early goals from '84 had Youth climbing an uphill battle, however Nathan Nicholson’s sublime freekick from outside the area gave Thamesview a life-line at 1-2. Soon after, an unbelievable stop from the Youth 'keeper David Reeves fell in front of a Rainham striker who knocked in the rebound to make a half time score of 1-3. Another goal in the second half from '84 made it a comfortable win for Rainham but there were again some good performances from Man of the Match Nathan Nicholson, Ben Foster and the lively Bobby Northover.

04/11/07- U8's League Division Red - Away V Woodcoombe Youth

MATCH 1 - 0-8 Loss
In both games against the league leaders, Thamesview were outplayed and out gunned. Woodcoombe were totally dominant throughout and chances were few and far between. Thamesview never gave up and although they lost 0-8, Tom Ladd gave a strong performance at the back.

MATCH 2 - 0-11 Loss
It was all hands to the pump as Woodcoombe showed why they are the current Leaders of the pack in the Red division. Thamesview never really got a look in as a combination of strong play, good passing and ruthless finishing undone the spirited Away Team. Again all the players gave their all, in particular Taylor Courtney, who was tireless in his running for the team and traced back at every opportunity.

Aggregate Score : Pegasus '81 13-1 TYFC Youth

MATCH 1 - 0-9 Loss
Pegasus '81 passed the ball very well and had some good quality players. Thamesview all worked very hard and covered a lot of ground but were ultimately beaten by a well drilled team. 5-0 at half time and 9-0 nil at the finish, no-one gave up at any time. Charlie Neal nearly broke through on goal several times but often lacked support, Ben Foster and sub, Taylor Courtney, tackled well, but we were unable to get many shots in. David Reeves made a couple of good saves but was beaten by some very good shots, and Bobby Northover showed all those fragile professional footballers how to take a knock and get straight back up after being flattened by the ball.

MATCH 2 - 1-4 Loss
A win by 9 goals would mean extra time! Josh Ofield-Thompson scored early to raise Youth's hopes and then had a scorcher saved by their 'keeper. Thamesview competed well with Luke MacGowan and Tom Ladd doing well in defence, but Pegasus again passed and moved better and started to create more chances. Still, Thamesview created chances of their own with Harry Jones and Charlee Juggins going close. During the second half Pegasus took control and took the lead and some heads seemed to go down. Juggins did well dropping deeper and showed some skills and assured passing, but, unfortunately, Thamesview were unable to get back on terms ending up with a 4-1 loss.

MATCH 1 - 0-8 Loss
Thamesview tried hard but were undone by a very good Wigmore team who showed what a strong outfit they are with a comfortable 8-0 win. On the positive side there were good performances from stand in Captain Ben Foster, a combative debut from Lewis Diallo and a Man of the Match effort from Nathan Nicholson. Although it was a defeat, Thamesview didn't give up and yet again battledto the end.
TEAM 1 - 13:David Reeves, 19:Ben Foster©, 8:Nathan Nicholson, 16:Philip McCue, 18:Bobby Northover, 20:Charlie Neal - Subs: 17:Lucus Harrison-Herbert, 14:Charlie Northover, 15: Lewis Dilallo - MoM: N.Nicholson

MATCH 2 - 0-7 Loss
It was a case of more of the same in the second game as again Wigmore ran out 7-0 winners. Mitchell Lee pulled off a number of magical saves to keep the score in single figures and a last ditch saving tackle from Josh Ofield-Thompson also helped keep the score down. Thamesview did create a number of chances but just couldn’t seem to get the ball in the net. Charlee Juggins brought a good save out of the Wigmore 'keeper from a well struck free kick but it was the best chance Thamesview had. Mitchell Lee brought home the Man of the Match trophy with his heroics in the Away goal.
TEAM 2 - 1:Michell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 4:Luke MacGowan, 7:Josh Ofield-Thompson, 9:Harry Jones©, 11:Taylor Courtney- Subs: 3:Charles Rayfield, 10:Charlee Juggins - MoM: M.Lee

25/11/07- U8's League Division Red - Away V New Ash Green

MATCH 1 - 1-1 Draw

New Ash Green took an early lead, but Charlee Juggins leveled soon after with a great finish into the top corner from just inside the box. Another non-stop display helped Josh Ofield-Thompson pick up the Man of the Match award. Overall, it was a slight disappointment that the Youth didn’t take all 3 points but still it was a point away from home.

MATCH 2 - 4-0 Win
Thamesview produced their best football of the season in the second game with a fine 4-0 win, a score line that Youth could have easily doubled. After a goalless first half, Thamesview came flying out the traps with Charlie Neal having two or three good chances to score but not being able to take them. Thamesview opened the scoring when Lewis Dilallo got on the end of a Nathan Nicholson cross to flick the ball in the net. Charlie Neal then scored two goals in the next five minutes with Dilallo and Lucus Harrison-Herbert having a helping hand in both. The icing on the cake was the fourth goal when a goal kick fell straight to Harrison-Herbert who smacked the ball back past the 'keeper for his first goal in a Thamesview shirt. 06/01/08- U8's League Division Red - Away V Real 60

MATCH 1 - 0-5 Loss
Thamesview had a bit of a New Year hangover in this game. Youth never really got going and lost Tom Ladd very early to injury. Thamesview were always on the back foot as Real 60 took their chances well. Harry Jones was 'Views Man of the Match for his tireless running and effort as Thamesview lost the game 0-5.
TEAM 1 - 1:Mitchell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 4:Luke MacGowan, 7:Josh Ofield-Thompson, 9:Harry Jones©, 10:Charlee Juggins – Sub: 14:Charlie Northover - MoM: H.Jones

The good start resulted in opening goal for Youth as an a overhead kick from Mase Brindle flew into the path of Charlie Neal who took the ball on and finished brilliantly to give 'View an early lead. Real then scored a scrappy goal just before half time to leave the Thamesview players feeling very down going in at half time 1-1. Thamesview's confidence seemed to drain away after that as they eventually went down 1-6 in the end. An outstanding performance from Nathan Nicholson earned him a very well deserved man of the match award.

13/01/08- U8's League Division Red - Home V Valley Colts

MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
Thamesview played really well in this game with Valley Colts after a terrible start. From the kick off, Valley raced into an early lead catching the Thamesview defence asleep to go 0-1 up. After that, the early exchanges were pretty even as both teams played some nice football. Although Valley were slightly having the edge, Thamesview were managing to find some space and time on the ball but were struggling in the last third of the pitch. The second half saw Thamesview getting plenty of the ball but again running out of ideas as they attacked. Nathan Nicholson was putting in some great tackles while Charlie Northover was playing with some guile holding the midfield. Valley grabbed another goal before Mitchell Lee made a terrific Penalty save to keep Thamesview in the game. A fightback wasn't on the cards though as Valley grabbed another goal for a 0-3 win. Charlie Northover put in a Man of the Match display as all the players did their best in a good game of football.
TEAM 1 - 1:Mitchell Lee, 5:Tom Ladd, 19:Ben Foster, 8:Nathan Nicholson, 9:Harry Jones©, 10:Charlee Juggins – Sub: 14:Charlie Northover - MoM: C.Northover

MATCH 2 - 0-9 Loss
Thamesview found the 2nd game a lot tougher as Valley laid seige to the goal, barely letting the Home team get any of the ball. With Charlie Neal isolated up front, Lewis Dilallo was everywhere chasing down the visiting team putting in tackles left, right and centre. In the end Thamesview went in at the break 0-5 down as Valley put the majority of their chances away. The second half saw a spirited performance as both subs, Lucus Harrison-Herbert and Bobby Northover impressed. Valley had to work harder for another four goals as they ran out 0-9 winners. Lewis Dilallo was outstanding throughout and grabbed a fully deserved Man of the Match accolade.
TEAM 2 - 13:David Reeves, 4:Luke MacGowan, 2:Mase Brindle©, 16:Phillip McCue, 15: Lewis Dilallo, 20:Charlie Neal – Subs: 17:Lucus Harrison-Herbert, 18:Bobby Northover - MoM: L.Dilallo

27/01/08- U8's League Division Red - Away V Oak Athletic

MATCH 1 - 2-1 Win
Thamesview grabbed a deserved win after a battling performance against Oak Athletic. The Home team had much of the early play forcing Thamesview onto the back foot for most of the first half. With a few minutes to go before half-time Oak took the lead after some poor defending allowed Oak to score to make it 0-1. This was the wake up call Thamesview needed though as Lewis Dilallo forced his way through the Oak defence to equalise just before the break to make it 1-1. It was the prefect time to score as Thamesview continued their positive momentum into the second half with some good passing and a more resolute defensive performance. Charlie Neal was switched to defence and Taylor Courtney was also back in action getting up and down the pitch tirelessly. Harry Jones didn’t stop running and produced a couple of good runs and crosses but no one could get on the end of them. Even though the team was moved about considerably, Thamesview only conceded 4 more goals in the second half, which with a lot of players playing out of position, was an achievement in itself. 02/03/08- U8's League Division Red - Home V Lordswood Youth

MATCH 1 - 0-1 Loss
Thamesview gave a fantastic performance against high-flying Lordswood in a great game of football. Lordswood started stronger and had Mitchell Lee on his toes early on in the Home goal. Whilst the majority of the play was in Lordswood's favour, Thamesview did look dangerous when they went forward with Charlee Juggins going close. As the Away side re-asserted themselves, Tom Ladd was busy in defence making one last-ditch tackle in particular that stopped a certain goal before the teams went in at half-time 0-0. Lordswood continued to pressure early in the second period however Thamesview stood firm. Midway through the half though Lordswood did grab the lead with a breakaway goal to make it 0-1. That is all the Away team got however as Thamesview gave a gutsy performance to narrowly lose 0-1. It was a good, clean game of football with both teams trying to pass the ball around well. It was a great team performance from Thamesview with Tom Ladd just edging the Man of the Match award with some crucial tackles.

Lordswood did score again just before half-time with a long range effort which decieved David Reeves in the Thamesview goal to make it 0-2 at the break. It was pretty much one way traffic again in the second half but Thamesview were doing well defending attack after attack from Lordswood. The Away side did get another two goals with a couple of good strikes to make it 0-4 at the end. Lucus Harrison-Herbert earned the Man of the Match award with a spirited defensive display. Overall it was a fantastic effort from both Thamesview teams as earlier in the season Lordswood stuck fifteen goals past Thamesview, however this time round it was only five overall, showing a great improvement over the season.

MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
Thamesview gave one of their most battling performances of the season in this match, as every player in the team including the Subs' done themselves proud. Woodcoombe scored very early on with at shot from distance, however it was all Thamesview after that with some tireless running especially from Harry Jones. Thamesview nearly equalised as Jones turned on the edge of the box and struck a great shot whitch the 'keeper could only parry on to the crossbar. The positive perfoamance carried on into the second half until Woodcoombe scored two very late goals for a 0-3 scoreline. It was another fine performance by all involved especially Man of the Match Lucus Harrison-Herbert.

MATCH 2 - 1-1 Draw
Thamesview came flying out the traps in the second game, with Charlee Jugins, Josh Ofiel-Thompson and Lewis Dilallo causing the Woodcoombe defence all types of problems. All three went close before Juggins controlled neatly on the corner of the area and lobbed the the ball in the far corner of the net for his 10th goal of the season. This made the Thamesview sriker the clear top scorer this season. Thamesview tired slightly in the second half but still were creating chances but not quite getting enough luck to increase their lead. Woodcooombe then made some tactical changes which Thamesview found it hard to cope with. Midway through the half the changes worked as a Woodcoombe forward powered his way through the Thamesview defence to equalise. Mitchell Lee pulled off three superb saves to keep high flying Woodcoombe at bay towards the end, however it was Thamesview who finished strong and will feel they were unlucky not to take all three points. It was a great performance by all the players as Josh Ofield-Thompson edged the Man of the Match award.
