09/09/07- U8's League Division White - Home V Cuxton '91
MATCH 1 - 3-8 Loss
Thamesview Rangers
first match produced a great game where both teams played some great attacking
football. Although Cuxton were playing the game with a man down, the away team
set the tempo for the match with some good passing football. Rangers themselves
found their feet as well and after a pulsating match full of goalmouth
incidents Cuxton ran out winners with an 8-3 win. Rangers played well and on
occasion had to thank some fine handling from James McCormick in the Thamesview
goal, however it was the attacking football Rangers played that caught the eye.
Bradley Brown scored a great goal as well as pulling the strings in midfield
while Man of the Match, Josh Whybrow found the net with two clinical strikes.
Although Rangers lost, it was still a match to be remembered for all the right
reasons.

MATCH 2 - 14-0 Win
Rangers
again took a numerical advantage into the match and soon asserted themselves on
the game. Although Thamesview dominated the match, Cuxton really gave
everything and never gave up as they found themselves under constant pressure.
Rangers managed to get an attacking bias with only a few minutes on the clock
as Captain, Louis Singh found the net early on. Singh's finishing was ruthless
as he registered a double hat-trick together with a first goal from Ewan Nash
before half time. After the break it was pretty much one-way traffic again as
Man of the Match, Singh finished the game with 10 goals and Nash completing a
hat-trick. One highlight for Rangers though must have been the first goal for
Tyler Fairbairn who, after missing an earlier penalty, found the net late on to
register a deserved goal.

16/09/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Rainham Kenilworth Athletic
MATCH 1 - 0-7 Loss
Rangers came back to
earth with a bump after the exploits of last week with a difficult match
against Rainham Kenilworth Athletic. Thamesview found it hard going to get into
their game as Kenilworth kept pressurising the Rangers back line. Despite the
best efforts of the Thamesview defence, in particular Holly Springate,
Kenilworth had raced to a 3-0 lead at half time. In the second half, it was the
same story as Kenilworth continued to be first to the ball and stopped Rangers
from passing the ball around effectively, cutting off the supply line to last
week's Rangers hero Louis Singh. In the end Rainham Kenilworth finished with a
7-0 win after some clinical finishing in the second half. Although it was a
disappointing defeat, Thamesivew's Vice Captain, Holly Springate, was an
inspiration at the back with an all action Player of the Match
performance.

MATCH 2 - 0-5 Loss
The
second match was again a tough encounter as Kenilworth again started brightly
attacking the Rangers goal from the off. Although Kenilworth were having a lot
of possession, Daniel Cabella and Zac Wheeler did their best in repelling the
continuous pressure. By half time Rangers were already a few goals down and for
all their efforts, they struggled to threaten the Kenilworth goal. Rangers best
chance fell to the busy Bradley Brown who went close near the end. At the final
whistle, Kenilworth had run out 5-0 winners but it could have been more if it
wasn't for a great second half showing from the Rangers goalkeeper, James
McCormick.

23/09/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Rainham Eagles
MATCH 1 - 0-7 Loss
Thamesview Rangers
faced their toughest task yet as they faced a rampant Rainham Eagles side.
Eagles, who had already notched up more than thirty goals without reply in
their opening two fixtures, raced into an early lead while Rangers struggled to
cope initially with the attacking of the Home team. Although the Eagles were
controlling the game, Rangers were giving as good as they got as Daniel Cabella
and Ewan Nash got stuck in. As the game continued Louis Singh went close a
couple of times but it was a test too far for Rangers as they ended up losing
0-7. The scoreline looked tough but the performance wasn't as everyone put
great effort in and tried their best with Ewan Nash in particular giving a Man
of the Match performance.

MATCH 2 - 0-3 Loss
Rangers
gave their all in an entertaining game against another strong Rainham Eagles
team. A spirited first half performance saw Rangers have plenty of the play
with the outstanding Bradley Brown providing the creative spark for Thamesview
whilst Daniel Chesson and Zac Wheeler repelled the Eagles attacks. With James
McCormick again in fine form, Rangers went in only 0-1 down at half time. The
second half again saw Thamesview more than holding their own against superior
opponents, with Dhruv Patel covering every blade of grass battling for the
ball. With the subs, Tyler Fairbairn and Amy Cameron-Potter also working hard
Thamesview were really putting on a great show. Although Eagles grabbed another
two goals, Rangers kept on going and with time running out Josh Whybrow broke
free and with the keeper beaten, hit the post with a good shot. Although
Rangers lost the game it was a fine performance with another great showing from
McCormick and Brown but the pick of the bunch was the tireless display from Man
of the Match Dhruv Patel.

30/09/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Valley Colts Foals
MATCH 1 - 1-3 Loss
Thamesview Rangers
and Valley Colts Foals played out a great game of football with the Home Team
edging out Rangers with a 3-1 win. Bradley Brown was again having an
insprational game working his socks off for the team but was unable to prevent
Valley Colts from taking command of the game. James McCormick in the Rangers
goal was making some good saves with some solid defending by Zac Wheeler. In
the end it was tough on Rangers although Josh Whybrow struck his third of the
season for Thamesview's goal but Valley Colts were worth their win on the day.
With ever improving performances all round from Rangers, all their hard work is
now beginning to pay off, especially with Man of the Match, Bradley Brown's
display.

MATCH 2 - 3-3 Draw
Again
both teams provided the supporters with a fantastic game of football that could
have gone either way. Rangers seemed to be playing catch up as Valley Colts
Foals kept edging in front during the match only for Thamesview to strike back.
With Tyler Fairbairn having his best performance in a Rangers shirt and Josh
Richardson making some telling saves, from front to back Thamesview were giving
a good account of themselves, never giving up. Louis Singh did the damage for
Rangers with all three replies for Thamesview, scoring a well deserved
Hat-Trick, taking his tally to thirteen for the season. Although Fairbairn had
a stormer it was Richardson in the Rangers goal who ended up Man of the Match
with a confident display and rescuing a point for Thamesview with a great save
in the dying seconds.

07/10/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Bredhurst Juniors Youth
MATCH 1 - 0-1 Loss
Thamesview went in to
this fixture against fellow strugglers, Bredhurst, hoping to gain some points
after coming close to a win the previous week. Rangers started well and
pressured the home side's goal with a couple of half chances from Louis Singh
and Tyler Fairbairn. As the game continued though Bredhurst started gaining the
upper hand and soon had Daniel Chesson working hard at the back with some well
timed interceptions. Not long before half time, Bredhurst were awarded a
penalty following a clumsy tackle but the resulting spot kick was put wide of
Josh Richardson's goal. The second half started with more Bredhurst pressure
but the heroics of Chesson and Holly Springate were keeping the home side at
bay. With not long to go, Singh had the shot of the match with a dipping
half-volley from the edge of the box but somehow the Bredhurst 'keeper made a
fabulous fingertip save to stop Rangers taking the lead. Just before the end
though, in a game that could have gone either way, Bredhurst had the last say
scoring after a defensive mix-up to finish the game 0-1. With some solid
performances all round it was Daniel Chesson who got the nod for Man of the
Match with a great defensive display at the back for Rangers.

MATCH 2 - 2-0
Win
Thamesview found themselves under pressure early on in the second match
but some sound defending from Zac Wheeler ensured Rangers survived the early
attacks from the home side. After a while Rangers began asserting themselves
with Ewan Nash and Bradley Brown controlling the midfield. Josh Wybrow went
close on a couple of occasions before half time but at the break it was still
0-0. After the break, Rangers continued where they left off by gaining a lot of
possession and were forcing a few corners. It was from one of these set-pieces
that Rangers broke the deadlock after an in-swinging corner from Nash found
Whybrow in the box who made no mistake to put Thamesview 1-0 up. With a few
minutes left and Rangers still pushing for a second goal, Brown was hauled down
in the area and the Ref' pointed to the spot. Brown stepped up and struck the
spot kick sweetly into the net to make it 2-0 to Rangers. That was the last
action of the game as Rangers ran out 2-0 winners. Everyone had a good game as
Rangers controlled most of the play including a fantastic second half
performance from Dylan Langridge at the back. Brown was again at his best
making Rangers tick but it was Zac Wheeler who put on a Man of the Match
display with a dependable and solid performance for Thamesview.

14/10/07- U8's League Cup - Home V Thamesview Youth
Aggregate Score : Rangers 3 - 5 Youth
MATCH 1 - 2-1 Win
The eagerly awaited
Cup clash between the two Thamesview Under 8's teams didn't dissappoint with
two fantastic games of football. Rangers started the brightest in Match 1 and
within the first five minutes showed they would give the older Youth team a
tough match. Rangers took the lead when a long range effort from Louis Singh
decieved Mitchell Lee in the Youth goal to put the home side 1-0 up. Rangers
kept applying pressure and before long went 2-0 up when Ewan Nash struck a left
foot shot from the edge of the box which just crept inside the post. In the
second half Youth were getting a bit more play and soon pulled a goal back from
Harry Jones after the Youth striker's great run and shot. Youth continued to
look for an equalizer with Jones, Charlee Juggins and Josh Ofield-Thompson
combining well but Rangers stood firm with strong defending from Holly
Springate and Zac Wheeler. Rangers 'keeper, Josh Richardson then made a great
save to deny Youth a second goal as Rangers held out for the win. Everyone
played well with probably the best team performance of the season and just
shading the Man of the Match accolade was Dhruv Patel with strong display both
in defence and attack.

MATCH 2 - 1-4 Loss
The
second match was another cracking game with both teams wanting to attack. It
was Youth this time who started the stronger and after only a few minutes went
1-0 up. Ben Foster found some time and space to place a good shot into the back
of the net for his first Thamesview Youth goal. Youth then went 2-0 up when
Nathan Nicholson's corner was deflected in for Nicholson's first of the season.
Rangers were struggling to get their game going although Bradley Brown was
again working his socks off along with Tyler Fairbairn to keep Rangers in the
match. Youth extended their lead in the second half when Charlie Neal struck to
make it 3-0 to keep control of the game. With 10 minutes left Rangers got a
lifeline when Brown struck a contender for goal of the season. The
'Scholes-like' midfielder fired in a shot from 25 yards over David Reeves in to
the Youth goal to make it 3-1. This gave the Home Side a lift as Fairbairn,
Brown and Josh Whybrow all went close but Youth were still proving to be too
strong for the younger Rangers outfit. Youth were still looking to extend their
lead as Bobby Northover went close and also had Lucus Harrison-Herbert putting
in some dangerous corners. Youth grabbed a fourth goal with a few minutes left
when Neal struck again with a shot which James McCormick was unlucky not to
save. The game finished 4-1 to Youth as Rangers crashed out of the Cup 3-5 on
aggregate. It was another spirited display from Rangers and again Bradley Brown
was leading by example with a strong performance but Man of the Match went to
Tyler Fairbairn with a non-stop display of effort and determination.

28/10/07- U8's League Division White - Home V Valley Colts Foals
MATCH 1 - 2-3 Loss
Rangers gave Valley
Colts Foals a good game but eventually lost by a single goal. Rangers started
brightly and took the lead when Zak Wheeler scored his first goal of the season
with a long shot. Ewan Nash followed up with a left foot finish to put Rangers
2-0. As the game drew on though, Valley proved to be too strong and pulled back
the deficit and in the end grabbed a winner to edge out Rangers 3-2. It was a
spirited performance from Rangers with Ewan Nash giving a Man of the Match
display.

04/11/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Swallows
MATCH 1 - 1-7 Loss
Rangers had tough
games against the league leaders which resulted in two defeats. Thamesview
tried hard to get their game going but Swallows were a well organised team who
kept contstant pressure on the Rangers goal. Josh Richardson made some good
saves whilst Holly Springate was holding the defence together as Swallows
dominated the play. Rangers did get a deserved goal after Louis Singh was
fouled in the box and the leading scorer stepped up himself and dispatched goal
number fifteen for the season. It was a Rangers display of good effort
especially from the Player of the Match, Holly Springate.

Again it
was Swallows who were running the show in game two, however Rangers never gave
up and battled to the very end. Although Swallows had most of the game they
were made to work hard for their victory as James McCormick was keeping the
Home Team at bay with a few telling saves. In addition, Dylan Langridge was an
inspiration at the back with a tremendous defensive performance. In the end
Swallows proved to be too strong but Rangers gave a good account of themselves
against a very strong team. Without doubt it was the performance of the season
from Dylan Langridge who grabbed a deserved Man of the Match accolade.

Aggregate Score : Rangers 1 - 18 Sheerness East Youth
MATCH 1 - 1-9 Loss
Rangers were up
against it with their John Leeds Clash with Sheerness East from the 'Blue'
Division. Sheerness came flying out of the blocks with three early goals before
Louis Singh pulled one back with a sweet strike from the edge of the box to
make it 1-3 midway through the first half. Sheerness were proving to be a
classy outfit though and were passing the ball around with Rangers doing all
the chasing as some more goals went in for the Home team. Thamesview were
working hard in defence due to increasing pressure as Holly Springate and
Daniel Chesson worked hard. In the end Rangers went down 1-9 but put in a
tremendous effort against a superior side with Man of the Match, Daniel Chesson
putting in a disciplined performance at the back.

MATCH 2 - 0-9 Loss
It was
backs against the wall time again for Rangers as Sheerness showed their class
in game 2. Thamesview were caught out with a couple of early goals and were
struggling to release their lone striker, Josh Whybrow, as the shots came in
from all angles. As the pressure mounted, Dhruv Patel and Dylan Langridge were
standing firm in defence as they had to defend against a good passing team who
knew how to shoot from all angles. With Sheerness grabbing more goals it was
difficult for Rangers to get out of their own half. The away team had to thank
James McCormick in goal for some great saves, including an super stop, which
saw the Thamesview 'keeper save a certain goal with a spectacular one-handed
parry which he pushed just over the bar. Rangers ended up on the receiving end
of a 0-9 defeat but as in the first game they never gave up, none more so than
James McCormick in the Thamesview goal.

18/11/07- U8's League Division White - Away V Royal Princes Park
MATCH 1 - 1-0 Win
The first half started
very well for Thamesview with Zac Wheeler pressing the ball most of the time
helping Rangers keep the home team in their own half. Rangers were getting
plenty of corners but not able to convert them due to good defending from the
Princes Park defence. James McCormick even had time to do a few press ups in
his goal area to try and keep warm which impressed some of the parents watching
the match before he had to make a good save towards the end of the half. The
second half was a different story with Princes Park wanting to take the game to
Rangers, forcing plenty of corners for the home team. Wheeler again raised his
game as in the first half though and helped Rangers get going which resulted in
Thamesview getting into the opponents half and getting a corner. Bradley Brown
took a great corner which ended up in the back of the net to give Rangers the
lead. Rangers were up for the match now and came forward again with Josh
Whybrow just missing his chance to get on the score sheet. Princes Park came at
Rangers again and with Thamesview feeling the heat, conceded a Penalty Kick.
McCormick kept his nerve and dived the right way as the ball went wide to
finish the match as the Zac Wheeler inspired Rangers held on to win 1
-0.

MATCH 2 - 2-1 Win
Rangers
were up for the second match against Princes Park's stronger team after seeing
the spirited performance in the first game. The game was an even match for both
sides for much of the first half with Ewan Nash getting the ball quickly at
times to relieve the pressure for Rangers and Louis Singh going close with a
free kick. Princes Park were playing well though and ended up edging ahead 1 -
0. Rangers did not let the goal get to them and kept going with Amy
Cameron-Potter giving a great performance and a fine save from Josh Richardson
to keeping it at 1 - 0 by half time. The second half was no disappointment with
a fine clearance from Holly Springate to keep Rangers in the match before a
good break from Louis Singh ended up with a equalising goal for the in-form
Rangers striker. The home team came fighting back again with the Rangers
defence working overtime clearing the ball off the post to keep the match
alive. Singh again was brought down by the home team but Rangers couldn't
convert the chance. Princes Park were again up to the challenge and rattled the
Rangers post before a brilliant solo run from one end of the pitch to the other
resulted in Singh scoring his second to win the game 2-1. A great team
performace ensured the win with Amy Cameron-Potter giving a Player of the Match

25/11/07- U8's League Division White - Home V Rainham Kenilworth Athletic
MATCH 1 - 0-4 Loss
Thamesview Rangers
gave two spirited performances against Rainham Kenilworth Athletic, which
really showed how far the Rangers have come in a short space of time. Rangers
began brightly with Dhruv Patel bossing the midfield, restricting the
Kenilworth team to limited space to move the ball around. Thamesview made a
couple of half chances with Josh Whybrow just unable to connect with the final
ball. Kenilworth finally broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time with
their first real attack to make it 0-1. The second half had Rangers dominating
the play but just unable to get the finishing touch on their possession. This
proved to be their undoing as Kenilworth had three counter-attacks and scored
with each of them with clinical finishing to win the game 0-4. Rangers did play
well and the scoreline didn't reflect the hard work put in by the players with
Daniel Cabella just edging the Man of the Match award.

The
second game was another entertaining close encounter with both teams really
giving a good account of themselves. A close first half saw good performances
from Holly Springate & Amy Cameron-Potter although again Rangers went in at
the break a goal down. Kenilworth grabbed another couple of goals early on in
the second half but Rangers kept going with some good saves from Josh
Richardson keeping the score down. With Thamesview throwing everything at
Kenilworth in the last five minutes, Rangers finally got the goal they deserved
when Ewan Nash went on a powerfull box-to-box run and set up Louis Singh to
score from close range. This put some respectability on the scoreline as
Kenilworth ended up 1-3 winners with Josh Richardson grabbing the Man of the

16/12/07- U8's League Division White - Home V Wigmore Youth Whippets
MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
TYFC Rangers won the
toss and the match started even with both sides doing some good passing in the
centre of the pitch. Bradley Brown and Zac Wheeler started to combine well and
kept the midfield strong for the Rangers and gave the Wigmore some problems in
the first five minutes. As the game drew on, Wigmore found their feet and
started to get more of the ball and Rangers had to clear their lines with
Daniel Cabella defending well. Wigmore were putting in some decent long balls
from throw in to pressure Rangers even more. Wigmore were now dominating the
game and the Rangers goalkeeper was starting to help his team with some decent
saves to keep Rangers afloat. This could not last and in the end Wigmore
pounced on the ball following a goal kick to slot it past James McCormick in
the Rangers goal. This did no deter the Rangers and they kept on plugging away
with Josh Whybrow and Brown linking up with some good team play with the now
warmed up Wheeler helping in the final third to pressure Wigmore's goal in the
dying minutes of the half.
The second half got off to another good start for
both teams with some end-to-end football and the sides were starting to enjoy
the football with some impressive little battles going on pitch. The Wigmore
team again started to dominate play and the pressured the Rangers goal with a
second goal for their rewards. This spurred on the Wigmore attack that was now
intense with McCormick scrambling for the ball at every opportunity and getting
rewards for his actions that kept the Rangers hopes alive. Rangers only had a
limited amount of luck at the other end of the pitch before the pressure again
was on them by the Wigmore team who had the hill advantage scored a third.
Rangers never gave up defending and did themselves proud for the rest of the
match but were unable to get a deserved goal as Wigmore bagged the points with
a 0-3 victory. The impressive Daniel McCormick put in a Man of he Match for
Rangers with some great goalkeeping.

MATCH 2 - 0-1 Loss
Wigmore
Won the toss and elected to kick off. The second match was every thing the
neutral spectator wanted in any match with some gutsy performances form both
teams. Josh Richardson in goal got to see some early action and done some fine
goal kicks which Tyler Fairbairn latched on to help the Rangers tame some of
Wigmore's talented players. Ewan Nash was doing the donkeywork for the Rangers
covering every blade of grass and with Holly Springate battling for the ball in
midfield this gave Rangers a good foothold on the game. The Wigmore team were
not here to make up the numbers though and this was clearly seen by all as the
Away eam scored with a long range effort going over Ricardsonl to take the
lead. This again did not deter the Home team with Dhruv Patel getting in the
game more and Fairbairn and Springate not giving up as all was not over. The
closing stages to the half was just as action packed as the first five minutes
but Rangers were not able to convert any chances that went their way.
The
second half did no disappoint either with both teams up for the challenge from
the off. The surge from Thamesview started to work as their spirit was still
high and Springate again commanded midfield with some good challenges from
Wigmore's counter attacks. The neutral again was in for a treat with many
individual battles on the field from both teams and it was good to see the
teams chatting at times when the ball was out of play. This did not deter
Wigmore from attacking the Thamesview goal as the half went on and the spirit
from all of the Rangers players kept the ball out of the net. As the match was
drawing to an end it was clear that Rangers were on the back foot but their
enthusiasm for the game kept their spirits high with Holly Springate now doing
some sound defending towards the end the match to gain the Player of the Match
award.

MATCH 1 - 0-2 Loss
Against the League
leaders, Rangers knew they were in for a tough fixture. Both teams started well
with the majority of the play in the midfield areas without either team getting
any clear chances. As the half wore on though Eagles began getting the upper
hand forcing James McCormick into a couple of saves in the Rangers goal.
Although Eagles did manage to grab one goal before the break some athletic
defending from Dhruv Patel was helping the home team frustrate the visiting
league leaders. The second half saw some real backs against the wall defensive
work as both the Thamesview subs, Dylan Langridge and Brendon Smith, assisted
the tireless midfield legs of Patel in keeping the Eagles attackers at bay.
Again, as in the first half, Rainham Eagles did get another goal but overall it
was an outstanding effort from Rangers in defending well to eventually lose
0-2. Although there was a great second half display from Dylan Langridge it was
Dhruv Patel's energetic, non-stop performance which won the midfielder the Man
of the Match award.

MATCH 2 - 0-8 Loss
The
second match was a much tougher affair than the first as Rainham Eagles were
rampant in the first half of this match. Within minutes, Eagles were a couple
of goals up as Thamesview just couldn't get hold of the ball. Although there
was some brave defending from Holly Springate, Eagles ended up six goals to the
good by half time, proving why they are top of the league. After a few changes
in the interval, Ewan Nash had a go in goal to give Josh Richardson a break
from the constant bombardment he had in the frst half. Eagles scored a couple
of quick goals early on in the second half, however this made Rangers more
determined for the remainder of second half. Ryan Smitheman added some bite in
the midfield on his debut and Nash's long kicks were beginning to give Rangers
some breathing space. Unfortunately Rainham Eagles had a fantastic defender who
swept up every Rangers attack that came her way. The score stayed 0-8 in the
end and Rangers could be happy with a much improved second half performance.
Ewan Nash had a good game, both on pitch and in goal but for the second match
running the brave, tough-tackling Holly Spingate was a deserved Player of the
Match. One point to mention though must the fantastic performances of the two
young girls playing at the back for both Rangers and Rainham Eagles who really
showed everyone a masterclass in defending.

13/01/08- U8's League Division White - Away V Woodcoombe Youth Cubs
MATCH 1 - 0-6 Loss
Woodcombe Won the
toss and elected to kick off. The match got off to a good start for Rangers
with a early shot on goal for Ewan Nash in the first few minutes before the
game started to even it self out in midfield. Holly Springate made a good
tackle as the Woodcombe team started to apply some pressure but this was not
enough as the Home team finally broke deadlock with their first goal to make it
1-0. Josh Richardson soon came into action in the Rangers goal, clearing his
lines for a corner to Woodcombe. A short corner was taken and a fine block by
Daniel Cabella stopped the shot going goalwards but the Woodcombe team managed
to get around the Rangers players to score their second to go 2-0 up. Rangers
were shellshocked by the goal as shown at the kick-off when the Woodcombe team
came straight at them with another two quick goals in succession to make it
4-0. The Rangers side were now on the back foot with Cabella clearing the shots
being fired in and Ricardson in goal coming more and more into the match making
three fine saves as his goal was being bombarded by the ever impressive
Woodcombe side.
The second half got off to a good start with some early
pressure from Woodcombe resulting in two corners that the Rangers defence
managed to clear very well. The midfield was starting to work well with Ryan
Smitherman and Louis Singh teaming up well with some good passing between them.
The luck on the Rangers side did not last long though as the Home side applied
some pressure from a throw in to earn their 5th Goal to make it 5-0. A
partnership was now starting to form with Smitherman and Singh working well
again as Rangers forced a corner unluckily just missed out on their first goal.
The teams again battled in midfield before Ricardson made another good save to
keep Rangers hopes up. As the match drew on some good tackling from Springate
was finally broken by a good shot on target by the Home team to earn their 2nd
goal of the half to make it 6-0. It was a harsh scoreline as Rangers played
well and there were many encouraging performances, none more so than Daniel
Cabella who grabbed the Man of the Match award.

MATCH 2 - 0-9 Loss
Rangers
won the toss and the match started with Woodcombe Youth showing some passion
and putting the Rangers defence under pressure from the off. The Rangers side
soaked up the pressure with a fine early save from James McCormick in Goal.
Woodcombe had a couple more chances which saw Dhruv Patel clear the goal line
as the match got into full flow and the Rangers side found it hard to get out
of their own half. When the time came, Bradley Brown made a good run in the
Woodcombe half before being brought down just outside the penalty area. Then
Rangers put pressure on the Woodcombe team which quickly resulted in a corner
but Rangers could not convert it. The Woodcombe side caught the Rangers out
from their goal kicks and started to apply pressure on the Away team with some
good passing moves resulting in a goal for Woodcombe to make it 1-0. Rangers
team were knocked by this and the kick-off again did not help the Rangers side
as the pressure was again on them with Woodcombe hitting the post. The Rangers
side just could not get out of their half despite some tackles from Zac Wheeler
and Patel. Woodcombe were now getting behind the defence and scored their
second goal to go 2-0 up. The Rangers side found it hard to clear the goal area
again which resulted in two further goals for Woodcombe in the first half to
make it 4-0 at the break.
Early Pressure from the Woodcombe team helped the
home side to an early second half goal to go 5-0 up. Patel made a good tackle
soon after kick-off, which helped Rangers clear their lines but the pressure
again came from Woodcombe, which Rangers cleared for a corner. McCormick
managed to get the ball with the help of his defence but a short goal kick saw
the ball fall to a Woodcombe player who slotted it past the keeper to make it
6-0. The Woodcombe team again came straight at the Rangers team and easily
found the net again after some good passing to go 7-0 up. With Brendan Smith
getting more into the game, the match started to get pretty even with him
helping in midfield resulting in plenty of action in the centre of the pitch.
McCormick had time for a breather while the action with the force of the wind
blowing off his cap at times! Woodcombe again made a break and were lucky to
score another Goal after it rebounded of the Rangers 'Keeper to make it 8-0.
The kick-off again saw the Woodcombe side go through the Rangers team to score
their ninth of the Match to finsh things at 9-0. The Rangers did not give up
and their rewards were pinning the Woodcombe team in their own half for the
last part of the game earning two corners before the final whistle. In this
tough game, Brendon Smith played well earning the Man of the Match
award.

20/01/08- U8's League Division White - Home V Swallows
MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
The game was actioned
packed from the off with Rangers knowing they were up against a good side who
are second in the league. The first half started on the back foot as the
Swallows team were kicking down hill from the off. The defensive wall was
holding just through as time went on with Zac Wheeler, Daniel Cabella and Dhruv
Patel making key challenges in the important stages of the half. Rangers at
times did manage to try and stretch the Swallows side and with some quick
passing in midfield as Bradley Brown and Josh Whybrow nearly came close to
getting Rangers' first Goal this Year. The Swallows 'keeper had other Ideas
though and came out convincingly to collect the ball. The half ended in a 0-0
draw with a performance from Rangers worthy of the result.
The Second half
looked to start as the first finished with both teams knowing what they had to
do. The Swallows team soon showed why they are in the top half of the league
with an early goal to ruffle the Rangers defence 0-1. This looked to spur the
away team on and Rangers soon found that they had to make a few key defensive
tackles to help James McCormick in goal collect the ball. The Rangers 'keeper
got carried away at one point and walked out of his area holding the ball,
which lucky for him the Swallows team could not convert to their advantage. The
Swallows team did however keep the pressure on the Home side and the defensive
teamwork could not hold as the Swallows team scored again to make it 0-2. From
the break Brown was taking more set pieces than open play such was the second
part of the half as the Rangers were desperate to clear their lines from a now
very impressive attacking Swallows team. The next goal of the game was on the
cards from Swallows, which soon came from a break away to finsh the game off
0-3. The Rangers side did not give up until the final whistle and should be
proud of their performance giving the Swallows team a good match from the off.
Again therewere many good perfomances, none more so that Man of the Match Zac

MATCH 2 - 0-4 Loss
The
Rangers side looked again up for the challenge ahead against the visiting team
for the second match. Swallows again were kicking down hill from the off after
winning the toss and applied the pressure early on to test the Rangers defence.
The Home team were unlucky early on as a goal was scored following a throw in
from Swallows to make it 0-1. Again Rangers got on their feet and looked up to
the challenge ahead against a Swallows side who gave the Rangers goal area a
good battering. The Rangers defence of Daniel Chesson, Holly Springate and Ewan
Nash, were doing well getting behind the ball to help the Rangers 'keeper who
was making some impressive saves to keep his team in the match. At one stage,
such was the amount of corners being made by the Swallows team it was a credit
to both teams to see their determination to win the game both from an attacking
and defensive point of view. Again the Swallows team won the battle of the half
with a goal to take them to 0 - 2. Louis Singh managed to get his running legs
on late in the half to try and test the Swallows defence but time ran out to
make any challenge countas it finished 0-2 to Swallows.
The second half
started with the Rangers side going to the Swallows team with nothing to lose.
Rangers gave their all as it looked like a replay of the first half but this
time it was Rangers taking all the corners. Swallows did some good man marking
though which paid dividends as the Rangers strike force was choked and no goals
were scored from the corners taken. The Rangers 'keeper, Josh Richardson, was
soon in action at the other end of the field as he brought down an attacking
player in his own area after missing the ball. The Swallows side converted the
penalty kick to score their first of the second half to make it 0 -3. This did
not deter the Rangers 'keeper who made some fine saves in the second half after
this with on a few breaks coming Rangers way for Singh up front. The second
goal in the half again showed why the very impressive Swallows team are at the
top end of the table after pressuring well to make it 0-4. The half saw no more
goals, which was unlucky for the Rangers side as it was clear that their hearts
were in the game for the whole of the match. Again there were so many good
performances, however it was Josh Richardson who got the nod for Man of the
Match.

27/01/08- U8's League Division White - Away V Wigmore Youth Wihppets
MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
The game got off to a
good start for the Home team as they put pressure on the Rangers defence from
the off. The tactics paid off for the young Whippets as Rangers conceded an
early corner. Thamesview managed to scramble the corner away for a throw in but
the Whippets, like their name, took the advantage and grabbed an early goal
shortly after the throw was taken with a swift attack. Rangers looked a little
shocked by this goal and took some time to clear their lines with the Rangers
'keeper getting in the thick of the action all the time. With the ball going in
all directions, Zac Wheeler and Brendon Smith managed to squeeze it through to
the midfield where Bradley Brown paid a key part in keeping the game under
control and calm the Rangers side down. Brown and Josh Whybrow did manage to
team up front leading to a break on goal for Brown but he just could not
convert. The action soon came Ranger's way as the pressure on Thamesview
'keeper increased, forcing a save and some misunderstanding in the Rangers
defence as Daniel Cabella kicked the ball out of his own 'keeper's hands!
Thamesview were lucky with Wigmore going in 1-0 up.
Again the Rangers
'keeper was soon in the action with a good save, using any part of the body
that he could to stop the ball. Dhruv Patel and Dylan Langridge replaced
Cabella and Smith in the second half. Rangers seemed to be a little steadier on
their feet as they got into the game, kicking the ball out for a few throws. As
their concentration swayed though they were punished with an excellent strike
from outside the area by Wigmore tto make it 2 - 0. The Home team again started
to apply the pressure on Rangers with Brown trying to tackle at every chance,
trying to keep his side afloat. The Whippets soon came under pressure
themselves though as Rangers started to go forward and test the Whippets
goalkeeper. Wigmore's 'keeper, however, was up to the challenge and again the
Whippets were able to go through a now tired Rangers side and score from a
rebound after putting even more pressure on the Rangers defence. to make it
3-0. Brown would not give up the fight though and went forward edging his team
earn a corner. Brown's corner was sniffed out by Wigmore's defence though and
as the game was now coming to a close,Rangers only had one more chance on goal
as Whybrow went close but it was not Rangers day and Wigmore came away with the
points in a 3-0 win. It was a spirited performance by Rangers with James
McCormick again busy in goal, however Bradley Brown gave a massive performance
in the Thamesview midfield with an Man of the Match display.

MATCH 2 - 1-3 Loss
Again
the Home team took the advantage from the kick off with an early goal to get
the game flowing. Holly Springate was the first of Thamesview side to wake up
with some good defending to help the Rangers get on their feet. As the game
drew on, Rangers were having some good battles in midfield with Tyler Fairbairn
holding his own as always. The game was starting to come alive after Ewan Nash
handled the ball and a fine strike from the Home team suddenly spurred Rangers
into overdrive. Louis Singh, the lone strike force and Captain of the Rangers
side, sprang to action when he took advantage of leaving Wigmore in his wake
and it was only the fine saving of the Whippets 'keeper that denied
Rangers their first goal of 2008. The supporters from both sides were now in
good voice as if it were a derby match and this encouraged both teams on the
pitch. The end-to-end action had just started with the Home again taking the
game to Thamesview with some good defending from Springate with some last ditch
tackles to keep Rangers afloat. After a while the Rangers midfield managed to
get the Ball to Singh who ran his heart out for the team only to just miss the
target. Nash and Fairbairn were keeping the midfield action to themselves
before slipping the ball yet again to Singh who so badly wanted to score but he
narrowly missed again. The Rangers 'keeper and defence were in the thick of the
action again to feed the ball away from the goal area as Wigmore applied
pressure. As the half was getting to near the end, Singh managed to earn a free
kick after yet another run on goal but a decent but the set peice wasn't close
enough. The Whippets then earned a free kick, which Rangers cleared off their
lines for a throw, however again it was the Home team to take advantage as they
managed to tap the ball into the net for their second making it 2 - 0. The half
came to a close with both teams up for the match but the Whippets making their
chances count.
The second half saw Ryan Smitherman and Daniel Chesson on to
replace Fairbairn and Amy Cameron-Potter. The pairing of Smitheman and Singh
were soon on the attack through the Whippets defence to only be outdone by the
'keeper again who was having a good match of his own. Again both teams were
battling well and after a couple of corners to defend, the Home team broke away
to add another excellent solo goal to send Wigmre clear at 3 - 0. Singh was
again looking for the illusive Rangers goal his team deserved after the first
half performance but again his shot was saved by the Whippets 'keeper.
Thamesview didn't let their heads drop though and after a goal kick their
rewards came with a deserved GOAL from the one and only Louis Singh to make it
2 - 1. The Rangers camp went into over drive and who could blame them after
registering their first goal in 2008! Smitheman wanted some of the action as he
battled away but came unstuck after giving away a free kick. Rangers defence
stood firm though as Chesson sprang into action again like previous games and
with the help of the calm Springate, kept the pressure off the Rangers goal.
The action in midfield was excellent also with Nash learning to pace himself
throughout the game and with the help of Smitheman and Singh, Josh Richardson
in goal was able to get a breather for spells. Wigmore applied some more
pressure on the Rangers goal late on but the tough tackling Rangers team kept
the Whippets at bay until the end of the game to narrowly go down 3-1. It was a
good display from Rangers with a great 2nd half comeback. All the players,
worked hard, especially Man of the Match, Louis Singh.

03/02/08- U8's League Division White - Away V Cuxton '91
MATCH 1 - 0-3 Loss
Thamesview kicked off
as the early early exchanges had both sides playing some good football with
Cuxton at times having the upper hand with their chances on goal. Some good
defending by Zac Wheeler was needed with some fine clearances. At times during
the half, the midfield play was pretty even, with Josh Whybrow getting into
some good positions for the Rangers but even assistance from Bradley Brown the
pair were short on luck. At one point, the confident Cuxton team gave Rangers a
big scare as the ball went straight across the Rangers goal with no one there
to clear it. Rangers only managed to keep possession of the ball late on with
the teamwork of Whybrow and Brown but the superior defence of Cuxton were again
on their game. As it looked like the half was going to end a draw Cuxton
grabbed a goal to end the half 0-1 up.
The second half started with Rangers
on the back foot and James McCormick had to make two good saves to keep Rangers
in the match. Brown again started to make some good runs down the right side of
the pitch to team up with Whybrow who again was finding himself in some good
spaces at times. Dylan Langridge had to do some good defending as Daniel
Cabella found himself under some pressure at times helping out in the midfield.
Cuxton reversed some play capitalising on a poor free kick by Rangers to go 0-2
up. Rangers kept plugging away but the Home team managed to score again from a
free kick for the second of the half to finish the game off 0-3. Again the
Rangers were unable to score but their faces were still smiling at the end of
the match in which the Ref played a key part to let the game flow. Josh Whybrow
put in a Man of the Match performance for Rangers.

Rangers
again had the kick off and the Cuxton team were straight down the Rangers half
going for an early goal but Josh Richardson in the Rangers goal made an
excellent save to help his team. Rangers were managing to soak up the ongoing
pressure from Cuxton as the Home team took control. Louis Singh, the Rangers
Captain, was then able to get a good run on goal but was unlucky to help his
team with an early goal after the pressure the team was under. Holly Springate
as usual got Rangers out of trouble with some good defending as the half drew
on but the Home team were finding their feet and managed to squeeze a goal in
to go 0-1 up. Springate unfortunately had to go off injured and was replaced by
Daniel Chesson. Singh again showed he was goal hungry with another attempt on
goal, however his effort just went wide. Brendan Smith was also getting into
the game with his tackles taking the sting out of Cuxton as the Home team was
again homing in on the Rangers goal. Ewan Nash was also showing he has a fine
kick on him with a fine clearance from a Cuxton corner as Rangers continued
defending. Cuxton continued pressuring and got their rewards towards the end of
the half with another fine strike to go in at half time 0-2 up.
The second
half was again about pressure on the Rangers goal but some good tackling by
Thamesview helped Singh try his skills on the well organised defence of Cuxton.
Again Rangers were nearly caught out but the fine defending of Nash and Smith
again kept Cuxton at bay. The Home side went 0-3 up as the pressure began to
tell. Singh again went forward again and again to try and score but the
confident Cuxton team were able to clear their lines. Smith was now starting to
put in a strong performance with some good passing but this was not enough to
help his team as Cuxton made it 0-4. Singh kept plugging away for Rangers
towards the end of the match but saw two efforts go close, one just wide again
and another saved by the Cuxton 'keeper. Richardson also made another save in
the dying moments of the match to keep the score at 0-4 at the final whistle.
Louis Singh put in an inspired performance but Brendon Smith just edged the Man

MATCH 1 - 1-1 Draw
Rangers had the Kick
Off and were kicking up hill. The first half was very well balanced in midfield
with both teams getting the ball down and passing it about. The match soon
developed into individual performances with some key changes by the TYFC
Management that made it hard for Woodcoombe to mark up the Rangers players.
Brendon Smith in goal for the Rangers showed that he had not lost his touch
after being on the pitch for much of the season with save after save during the
half as the game progressed. The Away team did get the better of the Rangers
though in the half and scored a valuable goal that sent the away side into the
lead 0 - 1. Rangers did plug away with all of the players giving 100% to try
and go level at half time but it was not to be.
Again the Rangers upset the
apple cart in the second half with Louis Singh getting on to the ball, trying
to get past the well dug in Woodcombe side. Rangers now had the advantage of
the sloping field and Smith in goal again showed he had not lost his touch to
keep the Away team with strong saves and some fine goal kicks to help the
Rangers along. Louis Singh, the Rangers Captain, played a hard shot on goal
during a busy spell for the Rangers and it paid off as the ball deflected off a
defender to bring the teams 1 - 1. The rest of the match was played as fast as
the first five minutes with both teams really wanting the points. In the end,

Woodcombe Youth playing up field had the Kick Off. Rangers team had a
hard act to follow to get past the Woodcombe side that are currently third in
the league. The Rangers Management again made some decisive changes during the
half to keep every one on their toes but it was the Away team who struck first
with an early goal in the half to go 0 - 1 up. Ryan Smitheman was starting to
find his feet in the game and Zac Wheeler was taking plenty of goal kicks as
Rangers battled to keep the ball out of the net. Thamesview were unlucky as the
Woodcombe side managed to grab a second during the half to make it 0 -
2.
The second half saw Rangers again play their socks off as the team
starting to get on top of things. Smitheman again played well on the field
making key challenges with Bradley Brown getting plenty of possesion for
Rangers but again it was the Woodcombe team who got the luck and scored again
in the half to make it 0 - 3. It was good to see the subs flowing on and off as
Rangers started to get pinned back with James McCormick in goal coming out to
put off the Woodcombe team time and time again. Late on Brown nearly got a
chance on goal but although some of the home supporters called for a penalty it
was the decisive footwork of the Woodcombe defence who won the ball. Rangers
can be proud of themselves in this match which only one month earlier saw them
lose across both games 15-0 to a very good Woodcombe side. This time the sides
were a lot closer as Ryan Smitheman put in a Man of the Match

Dylan Langridge were defending strongly as Rangers continued to dominate.
Thamesview grabbed a 2nd goal before half time when Bradley Brown struck a
sweet shot from the edge of the box into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 at
half-time. The 2nd half continued where the first half left off as Josh Whybrow
added a third goal from close range before he scored his second and Ranger's
fourth finishing off a good passing move involving Langridge and Brown to set
the Thamesview striker up. The final goal came when Bredhurst failed to clear a
corner and Daniel Cabella slammed in his first Thamesview goal to finish things

hard work and good passing as Bradley Brown just edged the Man of the Match

MATCH 1 - 1-0 Win
Rangers had the Kick
Off and were kicking up hill. The Royal Princes Park squad put on a very
impressive performance from the off and Rangers soon found that they had their
work cut out. Rangers started to edge into the match after the first five
minutes with a lot of action in midfield from both sides. Ewan Nash and Holly
Springate again making some key challenges in the half with Daniel Chesson
running around the pitch finding himself in some good positions to help the
team along. Louis Singh, the Ranger's striker, found it hard going up front as
the lone stiker but still managed to get a few half chances in the first
period. The second half started with Rangers pushing for the opening goal but
they were lucky not to lose a goal as they gave away two free kicks early on as
the Home team had to defend against a very impressive and strong Princes Park
side. The half had no real surprises as it drew on with both teams getting on
the ball as the end of season tiredness started to show with fouls on both
sides creeping in because of mis-timed challenges. Singh again had a few
chances on goal but was unable to convert the passes threaded to him from
midfield. In the dying moments of the game Rangers won a corner. Nash struck a
strong kick in which deflected in to give Rangers the lead and indeed the game
1-0. Daniel Chesson put in a Man of the Match display as Rangers grabbed the 3
points.

MATCH 2 - 0-1 Loss
The
Rangers again were kicking up hill and Royal Princes Park had the kick off.
Again the defence had some work to do with Zac Wheeler and Daniel Cabella
trying to clear the ball. Early on the Away team took the lead with a well
struck free-kick from the edge of the box. The teams on both sides then had
plenty of the ball with Bradley Brown for Rangers showing some magic at times.
In the dying moments of the half, Princes Park had a corner and the brave
reactions from James McCormick in the Rangers goal were on display as he saved
a close range shot keeping his team in the match at half time. Brendon Smith
went in goal in the second half as the Rangers No 1 was rested. The first part
of the second half saw Rangers playing with their backs against the wall as the
Princess Park Team took corner after corner against the home team as the boots
of Dhruv Patel and Wheeler cleared the Rangers goal mouth. Brown made a good
clearance to send the Rangers out of the danger area which was well appreciated
by the home supporters. The Royal Princes Park side, with the stronger players
on the pitch, dug in well as Rangers advanced and the skills of Brown were on
show again which was a pleasure to see. As the game drew on, Josh Whybrow was
brought down just inside the penalty area to give the home side a penalty.
Brown, who had been on form all game, took the spot kick but his shot came off
the right post to go out for a corner. This spurred the away team on again as
they soon found themselves up the other end of the pitch having plenty more
corners as the Rangers defence cleared their lines time and time again. The
Rangers side managed get out of their own half at the end of play but it was
not to be this time against a strong Royal Princes Park who came to win.
Bradley Brown put in another skillful display for Rangers with a Man of the
Match performance.
